Portraits that turn

“I can’t believe how big they are”
into artwork.

Heirloom Photos

And the photos you meant to take?
They tend to fall into two categories:

• Quick snapshots that don’t quite hold the feeling, or
• Milestones you meant to document… but life got loud.

You don’t need more photos.
You need meaningful ones.

Heirloom Photos for the years that blur together a little too fast.

✔️ capture who your child is in this moment—not just what stage they’re in

✔️ include you, mama, because your presence matters in this story

✔️ feel timeless, not trendy (no themes that make you cringe in five years)

✔️ are calm, guided, and thoughtfully planned so you can actually enjoy the experience

✔️ are designed to live as custom artwork—on your walls, in albums, in your hands

✔️ help you remember not just what they looked like… but how this felt

YOU WANT THE KIND OF Heirloom PHOTOS THAT:

One day they’re learning how to lift their head.
Then they’re sitting.
Then standing.
Then somehow… big.

These years don’t move in a straight line.

They leap.

They blur.

They disappear quietly while you’re busy keeping everyone alive and reasonably fed.

Have you noticed?

“We had the opportunity to have heirloom photos taken of my daughter, and I can't tell you how amazing the entire experience was!

Ms. Shelley was so lovely and kind to my daughter and put her right at ease. Her studio is bright and fun and we had a blast trying on the beautiful gowns Shelley provided for our session.

As a mom of young girls, I'm always on a mission to capture their "littleness", this was the perfect way to do just that. We will be visiting Shelley's studio again to capture these one of a kind, heirloom photos for the rest of my daughters as well.

Also, Dads, if you are seeing this, what a wonderful gift this would be for Mother's Day! Thank you, Shelley!

Not just “pictures because it’s been a while.”

Milestone sessions are for parents who want to document childhood with intention—from those early baby stages to yearly portraits that quietly become a family legacy.

These sessions honor:

Baby milestones (3–4 months, sitting at 6-7 months, & first birthday)

And heirloom portraits of older children—simply as they are, right now

No pressure to perform.

No forced smiles.

Just honest, beautifully guided portraits that grow more meaningful every year.

SELECT THE SESSION THAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU

my heirloom sessions work a little differently than all my other sessions... this is about quality not quantity

This is a process of careful portrait creation, by their nature these sessions produce less photos than say a full family session, but each one is a statement, a testament to who your child is becoming.

My daughter had so much fun dressing up and taking fun pictures in Shelley's studio! She even got a few with me in them in a great dress! Highly recommend her for your photo session, she takes great pictures and is such a friendly person! Thank you Shelley!

my CLIENTS HAVE THE SWEETEST THINGS TO SAY

Shelley did such a great job and all of the pictures came out amazing!

- Kjerstin

She worked so well with my 6 year old daughter. I wanted portraits taken and she had a beautiful wardrobe of dresses and clothing in all sizes. Very unique pieces that stand out. Her studio is spacious and beautiful with lovely props and lighting. She gave my daughter great direction so the pictures turned out so lovely. Can't wait to book her again!

“Shelley is fantastic!

- Penn

We did a mommy-and-me shoot with her, and she's genuinely the sweetest person and photographer. Her studio environment is spotless, friendly, and cozy, with sparkling water and other drinks available. She has a warm, friendly personality and a welcoming smile. She was very patient with us, even amid scheduling conflicts, and went above and beyond to ensure we finished both projects.

Ms. Shelley comes with my highest recommendation for family, individual, and modeling portraits, as well as other services.

✖️Quick, forgettable snapshots you scroll past in six months

✖️Trendy filters or editing that won’t age well

✖️Chaotic, overcomplicated setups that distract from what actually matters

✖️Images that live and die on your phone

Long story short?
YOU + ME = HEIRLOOMS YOU’LL NEVER REGRET.

With intention.
With heart.
With artwork in mind from the very beginning.

I know how fast this goes, from experience.

I know how easy it is to forget the details.

And I know how powerful it is to see your child—truly see them—year after year.

Hey, I’m Shelley.
Fine art photographer, dog lover, & knock-knock joke enthusiast.

That’s why I do this work the way I do.

Heirloom sessions are limited each month so every family gets the planning and care they deserve.

If this season matters to you—
now is the moment.

P.S. A LITTLE HEADS UP

I’m often booked in advance.

FREQUENTLY
asked
QUESTIONS

Because they will never look exactly like this again.

The baby cheeks soften.
The curls change.
The expressions mature.

You don’t realize how much you’ll miss this version of them… until you do.

This is how you hold onto it.

Why should I do this now?

I’ve been photographing children for 15+ years.

Shy, silly, serious, wiggly — I’ve seen it all. I don’t expect stiff poses or big grins on command. I work with who they are.

Sometimes the quiet portraits are the most powerful ones.

What if my child is shy (or wildly energetic)?

Family sessions tell a story.

Heirloom Sessions create an icon.

They’re simplified. Focused. Art-forward. Designed to capture your child in a way that feels both honest and timeless.

Different purpose. Different energy. Same heart.

What makes these different from a regular family session?

Short answer, yes — but Heirloom Sessions are built around printed art.

These portraits are designed to become fine art prints, framed wall pieces, or deckled-edge artwork. This isn’t a “download and figure it out later” experience.

I help you create something tangible.

Do I receive digital images?

Definitely not. They’re efficient — but they are not casual.

Everything about these sessions is intentional and artwork-driven. From lighting to posing to styling & hand-painted backdrops, I’m creating portraits that are meant to live framed on your walls, not lost in a camera roll.

Are these sessions just quick mini sessions?

Short and sweet — about 30 to 40 minutes for the Petite Sessions.

For full sessions it can be up to 2 hours depending on how many children attend. For full sessions, in addition to individual heirloom portraits, I do groupings of siblings and Mommy & Me portraits.

I keep things calm, lightly directed, and pressure-free. No forced smiles required.

Little one's that enjoy playing dress-up take up the full 40 minutes as they have fun trying on multiple things from the client closet.

How long are the sessions?

In my studio, with a simple backdrop and beautiful light.

No wind.
No weather stress.
No rescheduling.

Just clean, intentional portraiture that puts the focus entirely on your child.

Where do sessions
take place?

Simple. Neutral. Timeless.

Soft textures. Creams, whites, muted earth tones. Nothing trendy, nothing distracting.

The goal? That 25 years from now, this portrait still feels classic — not tied to a passing phase.

And don’t worry. I guide you through all of it.

What should my child wear?

Heirloom portraits are perfect for babies who can sit independently (typically around 6 months) all the way through childhood.

That sweet sitter stage? Absolute magic. The chubby hands, the steady little posture, the wide-eyed curiosity.

And as they grow? The serious stares. The shy half-smiles. The confident sparkle. The gap-toothed grins.

We’re not chasing perfection or performance.

We’re preserving who they are — right now — before this version quietly changes into the next one.

What ages are best for Heirloom portraits?

Heirloom Sessions are fine art portrait sessions created exclusively for children — and designed specifically for printed artwork.

These aren’t “smile at the camera and we’re done” photos.
They’re timeless portraits that become framed pieces on your walls. The kind you pass down.

What exactly are Heirloom Sessions?

Intentional portraits for families who know these years matter.
